Severn Road Club Open 25 Solo / 2up / SWTA

Most people were talking more about the cold than the wind before the start with conversations about who going to wear what with even hardrider John Thompson considering wearing no gloves at all for his warm up! However, it was the wind that caused most damage to peoples times on the new U18-2006 course, this event being the inaugural event for the course. The wind drove down from the north east making the outgoing leg tough but the return a breeze (sorry!). The new loop through Breadstone proved popular and theoretically making the course faster but with only five riders getting under the hour it is difficult to see how fast it is. A good turn out for such a cold morning in winter with over 60 riders in all but with less DNSs than some of the summer events which just shows what a popular event it is and it was worth riding just for the home made cakes!
