Cyclocross roundup

We’ve completed two weeks of the Western League Cyclocross winter series and the Severn has been represented in the Youth, Junior and Vets categories.

2 September – Gloucester Boating Lake

A hot day and huge numbers as riders from neighbouring leagues that haven’t yet started made the trip to Gloucester.  Louis Britton finished 9th/22 in the Youth race with Neil Blessitt 14th/49 in the V50+ (and 1st V60) and 16th/51 in the V40’s for myself.  Best ride was probably done by George Britton in the Senior/Junior race who, having dropped his chain on the first lap, fought back from last place to finish in a solid mid-pack position 29th/44.

9 September – ShamXross, Chocolate Factory, Keynsham

Fast, bumpy, a drivetrain-destroying sandpit and a spiral of doom.  A hard race.  Louis Britton 8th/17 in the Youth, Neil Blessitt 9th/52 in the V50+, Jamie Britton 9th/50 in the V40 and George Britton 20th/51.
