More cyclocross

Time for another cyclocross roundup:

23 September – Pitville Park, Cheltenham

Forecasts of biblical rain resulted in fewer riders with only Neil Blessitt riding from the Severn.  In the end, the skies cleared and Neil crossed the line in 8th/37 (and 2nd V60).  The only race so far to muddy the tyres.

30 September – Netham Park

Severn’s first event this winter and a super fast course.  Too fast for me, anyway!  However, we kicked off with a win for Louis Britton on the youth category.  Jamie Britton 13th/42 in the V40, Neil Blessitt 11th/37 (and 2nd V60) in the V50+ and George Britton 20th/40 in the Junior/Senior race.

21 October – Stratford Park, Stroud

After a couple of weeks off, the league returned to Stroud and a course that, in theory, favoured the climbers.  Louis Britton held his good form to take 3rd/19 in the youth race, Jamie 13th/43 in the V40 and Neil 9th (and 2nd V60) in the V50+.

28 October – Chocolate Factory, Keynsham

Bitterly cold but still dry (and bumpy) and our 2nd race at Keynsham but this time in a clock-wise direction.  Louis 5th/11, Jamie 9th/29 and Neil 5th/32 (and 1st V60) in the V50+.  George was 20th in the Junior/Senior race and we seen Adam Watkins’ CX debut (riding single speed) coming in 28th/39.  The senior race finished with a nasty crash involving James Phillips who unfortunately unclipped in his finishing sprint, collided with another rider and fell heavily across the line (so still finished!).  Get well soon, James.
